We are proud to share that The Deli Women and Children’s Centre has been named one of just five finalists, from 57 applicants, in the Beyond Bank Community Group Award as part of the 2026 7NEWS Community Achievement Awards NSW/ACT.
The nomination recognises The Deli’s 47 years of supporting women and children affected by domestic and family violence, with a particular focus on our Parenting After Violence work and the support we provide to families as they move beyond crisis and into recovery.
Supporting Parenting After Violence
Domestic and family violence can have a lasting impact on parenting, children’s emotional wellbeing and the relationship between mothers and their children.
Our Parenting After Violence work supports mothers to rebuild confidence in their parenting, better understand their children’s responses to trauma and strengthen connection and safety within the family.
In 2024–25:
- 46 women received individual parenting support
- 127 parenting appointments were delivered
- Families took part in groups focused on attachment and emotional regulation
- Free childminding helped make it possible for mothers to attend appointments and programs
- Attachment-based play sessions supported connection and trust between children and their caregivers
This work is supported by The Deli’s broader counselling, case management and specialist referral services, recognising that recovery from domestic and family violence is often a much longer journey than the immediate crisis.

Being selected as one of five finalists from 57 applicants is a meaningful acknowledgement of the work our team does every day.
For 47 years, The Deli has worked alongside women and children in our community, providing practical and therapeutic support as they rebuild safety, confidence and stability after violence.
