We’re thrilled to present The Deli Women and Children’s Centre’s 2023-2024 Annual Report, a comprehensive reflection on a year of resilience, growth, and impactful change.

This report chronicles the triumphs, milestones, and challenges we encountered and showcases the dedication and compassion of our supporters, staff, and partners.

Our deepest appreciation goes out to everyone who has contributed to our mission. Together, we’ve faced obstacles and achieved significant successes, fortifying The Deli’s commitment to empowering women and children affected by domestic and family violence. Your unwavering support fuels our progress, and we invite you to explore the initiatives, stories, and transformations that have marked this extraordinary year.

Highlights of 2023-2024

Funding Partners and Supporters

Our accomplishments this year would not have been possible without the steadfast backing of our partners and supporters. We extend special thanks to the Department of Communities & Justice for its crucial funding of our core services at Eastlakes and to Randwick City Council, whose outreach support enables us to provide three additional days of counselling weekly across the Randwick LGA.

A heartfelt thank you to Community Bank Clovelly for their generous grant, which expanded our counselling capacity by 12%. This support allowed us to deliver 187 additional counselling sessions over the 2023-2024 financial year.

Client Engagement and Support

In 2023-2024, The Deli served 336 women and 412 children through 1,519 counselling sessions, parenting appointments, and workshops. We maintained an impressively low no-show/cancellation rate of just 8%, underscoring the commitment and engagement of our clients.

Launch of Our New Website

We proudly launched a new website with enhanced features, including online referral forms and donation options, which have increased accessibility and streamlined service and fundraising efforts.

Implementation of a New Client Management System

Our new client management system introduced automated appointment reminders, minimised manual administration, and provided greater transparency in service delivery—improving our client-centred approach.

Rockdale Outreach Hub

In response to the Eastern Suburbs housing crisis, we established a new outreach location at Rockdale Primary School, providing weekly counselling in Bayside West. This additional site has expanded access for clients rebuilding their lives and communities.

Metro Assist Partnership

Amidst a cost-of-living crisis, we strengthened our partnership with Metro Assist to offer $7,000 in Woolworths and petrol vouchers, alleviating financial burdens and helping clients manage food insecurity.

CHRISTIE Project and Safe & Together Model Training

We are honoured to be part of the CHRISTIE project (Collaboration to Harness Research Involving Safe & Together: Inquiry and Evidence), in partnership with Bondi Beach Cottage and Randwick City Council. Our team completed a four-day training in the Safe & Together Model, an evidence-based approach we are now integrating into our services to better support families affected by domestic and family violence.

Thank you for standing with us as we work towards a community where healing and empowerment are possible for all. Your support continues to be the foundation of our progress and success.
